I haven’t finished reading the book when I watched the movie. So somehow, I don’t know what to expect. Last weekend, after three months or so, I was finally able to finish reading the book. The book and the movie of course has the same plot but I prefer the movie more. I find the book a bit dragging. On the last few chapters, I was somehow just skimming through it and just read the characters’ conversations. What the movie lack I’ve noticed, is the explanation why Ronnie’s dad left them. In the movie, you can just simply suspect that Ronnie’s parents just had it and decided to split but in the book, it was explained why. The reason also added to Ronnie’s relationship with her father. This is not on my top 5 Nicholas Sparks’ book list, but hey I think I’ve only read three so far. :P But still this is on the bottom list.  I still prefer Dear John over The Last Song. One day, I’ll read all books by Sparks.
